My mom is a diabetic and she won’t eat right I make good healthy meals from her and she has her boyfriend bring her Taco Bell and some drink that is chocked full of sugar. She picked at her dinner tonight and then mooched chocolate cake from my friend. She’s got a bad heart and I don’t want to get to tuff with her. Does anyone have any ideas?
Sure… let me talk to her.
And I’ll tell her that what she’s doing is exactly what took my mom’s life in the worst possible way. A slow, miserable decline over many years, complete with heart attacks, stroke, coronary bypass surgery, depression, and finally dementia and early death. You don’t just go suddenly and painlessly. Watching her slowly wither away has been my motivation to take care of my diabetes and help others as well. Taking care of it really doesn’t have to be difficult, either. Just takes a little common sense, some reading, and a desire to be around a long time for your kids.
As far as that ranter above goes… don’t pay attention to her. She has no clue that healthy diet can be wonderfully delicious and nourishing at the same time. That’s exactly why she’s on insulin and I’m on no medication at all. I suspect that her sugar level must have been very high when she posted that rant.
