Its still a little awkward between us, but we’re more or less friends. I miss him and I want him back. I have a friend who tells me that there isn’t really any hope between me and him. I listened to her and gave up on wanting him back, but some part of me still wants him so badly. I can’t get over him. He says he’s not ready to have a girlfriend at the moment and my friend said that when she talked to him she thought it was more of an infatuation with me versus the love part. I want a chance to do things right, because I screwed up. She says I blew things out of proportion of what he said and he didn’t really know what was going on because I took things a bit too far. Is this all a lost hope? What do I do to win him back?

My personal advice, please don’t try to win him back. From a guy’s prospective, you can go from sweet girl trying to win my heart back to annoying, crazy girl who is stalking me, really fast. So your best bet is to let it go. He is much more likely to want you back if he thinks he can’t have you back. So if you can’t possibly live without him then you need to put some distance between you and him for now and let things be.
Otherwise I would recommend moving on. I know it feels like you have time invested in this relationship that is hard to just get rid of, but sometimes you just have to take what you learned from this and apply it in your next relationship.

You mention that she left because she felt neglected. Some people don’t have a clue why their partner left so at least she told you.

Now you’ve got to decide how you can show and prove that you will take her feeling/opinions etc into consideration. Don’t make her feel like second best.

I’m on the verge of a break up if my boyfriend doesn’t stop taking me for granted. We have been together for just over 6 years. It’s easy to lose what you had in the early stages of your relationship if you don’t communicate.

First of all, just be yourself. Go out have fun with your friends. Don’t sit at home and mope. You may even want to start dating again. No serious relationships but go out on a few dates. If she is still hung up over her ex, then you should wait until you are sure she is over him before you make any moves on her. Just be her friend and keep suggesting you do things together and hang out with her. Eventually, when the time is right, you can let her know you like her by telling her or laughing with her or giving her a little hug. It will still be up to her if she wants to take you up on anything, but good luck regardless.
